September 23, Fineko/abc.az. If the proposals of the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection of Azerbaijan are endorsed, they will come into force in January 2021 and will also be applied for the period up to this date.

ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by Javid Shahmaliyev, the head of the Department of Adoption & Work with Children Deprived of Parental Care of the Social Services Agency under the MLSP.

According to Shahmaliyev, the Ministry has developed programs to encourage adoption.

The program envisages a monthly allowance of 480 manats for those who adopt a child with disabilities: "Until now, there has been no practice of adopting children with disabilities. Therefore, it is suggested to pay benefits to those who adopt such children. However, this is just a project. We still need to make changes to the Law on Social Benefits," Shahmaliyev emphasized.
