Azerbaijan to study South Korea’s experience to produce 40,000 tons of rice a year

February 19, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s annual demand for rice is 40,000 tons.

Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov has stated that in 2017 the country spent $36 million on rice import, although this sphere has always been traditional in Azerbaijan.

"In compliance with the State Program the annual production of 40,000 tons of rice in Azerbaijan will be provided until 2025. For that, it is necessary to study South Korea’s experience and purchase new equipment," the minister said.
