February 19, Fineko/abc.az. 24.3% of wage and salary workers of enterprises and organizations worked in the production sector of Azerbaijan in January 2021.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that last month 7.8% of salary earners worked in construction, 7.5% in the processing industry, 3.6% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2% in mining, 1.7% in water supply, waste treatment and processing, 1.7% in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam.

19.6% of wage earners were employed in the service sector accounted for education sector, 18.5% for trade and for vehicle repairs, 8.3% for medical and social services to the population, 6.6% for public administration and defense; social security, 4.5% for administrative and support services, 4.5% for transport and warehousing, 3.5% for professional, scientific & technical activities, 3.2% for recreation, entertainment and art.

At that, 1.8% of salaried workers were employed in the ICT sector, 1.7%  in financial and insurance activities, 1.4% in tourist accommodation and catering, 1.1% in the provision of services in other areas, and 1% in real estate transactions.
