Azerbaijan and Georgia discuss prospects of development of transport-transit cooperation

March 7, Fineko/abc.az. Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev met with Georgian Prime Minister Georgi Kvirikashvili during his visit to Georgia.

The Ministry reports that during the meeting the Prime Minister noted that the country is interested in the development of the Azerbaijani-Georgian relations and that joint implementation of major projects in the field of energy and transport produces great results to the countries.

"Speaking about cooperation in the field of trade, investment, tourism, social cooperation, Shahin Mustafyev said that enhanced cooperation in the field of transit transport and the favorable infrastructure created in Azerbaijan creates conditions for increasing freight traffic and development of transport and transit links," the message says.

Noting the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the minister said that the road is also important for the development of passenger transportation and tourism.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of cooperation in the transport and transit area and other issues of mutual interest.
