March 14, Fineko/abc.az. International conference "The role of parliamentarians in development of economic cooperation & cultural ties along the Silk Road" was held in Baku yesterday.

TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission’s Secretary General Mircea Ciopraga stated during the conference that TRACECA offers close and mutually beneficial cooperation to the Support Group of the Silk Road Project under the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

He added that the Support Group will contribute to development of opportunities of transport corridors, trade facilitation and transit procedures, and will help ensure free and safe movement of people, goods and investments.

"The basis of partnership for all parties is to obtain mutual benefit from joint work. Active involvement in high-level international events, where there are opportunities to exchange experience and knowledge accumulated by the TRACECA corridor participating countries is very important.

In this regard, TRACECA offers close and mutually beneficial cooperation to the Silk Way Support Group," Mr. Ciopraga emphasized.
