As part of the reconstruction project of the Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala section, construction work has begun on the first 14-km section of the Baku-Shemakha-Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala highway, which is the shortest road connecting Baku with Ismayilli, Gabala, Oguz, Sheki, Gakh, Zagatala and Balaken districts.

The Azerbaijan State Motor Road Agency (AAYDA) informs that for the durability and strength of the road, the construction of retaining walls of piles, drainage systems and other engineering works are provided here.

The devices are designed according to the current regulatory loads, taking into account the seismicity of 9 points.

As a result of the reconstruction, the Muganli-Ismayilli-Gabala road will be reduced by 9.7 km to 76.8 km. The existing 2-lane road will be widened to consist of 4 lanes.
