Baku Metro fare to be simplified

October 4, Fineko/abc.az. Measures concerning payment of metro fare by bank cards are being taken at the Baku Metro.

ABC.AZ reports that K Group LLC, which already owns trademark Baku Kart, conducted preliminary tests in the Baku underground.

After updating the turnstile software, an NFC (Near Field Communication) payment system will be introduced at the metro stations.

This will allow making payments not only by bank cards, but also by mobile phones, smart watches and rings. Completion of this work is scheduled for the end of the year.
