11:43 - 14.10.2021

October 14, Fineko/abc.az. International rating agency Moody's has confirmed the long-term rating and the rating of priority unsecured obligations of Azerbaijan at the Ba2 level.

ABC.AZ reports that the forecast was upgraded from "stable" to "positive" in the previous April’s update.

The positive outlook reflects Moody's assessment that governance, and in particular policy effectiveness, is improving. This can increase the sustainability of the government's credit profile.

According to Agency's analysts, the confirmation of the rating shows the creditworthiness of Azerbaijan.

Moody's analysts believe that the stability of the exchange rate and the improvement of the process of informing about monetary policy by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan will contribute to the stability of the dynamics of the external and foreign exchange market of the country. In general, according to the Agency, the improvement of Azerbaijan's political framework will reduce the risks of government liquidity, external vulnerability and ensure policy flexibility, especially due to the significant assets of the State.
