Russian Railways discuss creation of a logistics operator for North-South corridor

April 19, Fineko/abc.az. Russian Railways is discussing the matter of creation of a logistics operator for international transport corridor North-South with Iran, India and Azerbaijan.

Such a statement was made by Russian Railways first deputy CEO Alexander Misharin on the sidelines of international exhibition TransRussia.

"We are now discussing options for creation of such operator. The project was presented during the meeting of the Russia-Iran Intergovernmental Commission. We are holding these talks today with our Iranian and Azerbaijani colleagues. Negotiations are also underway with India," Misharin said.

North-South is a multimodal route for transportation of passengers and cargo with total length of 7,200 km from St. Petersburg to the port of Mumbai (India). In particular, it will connect Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran and India.
