BNA: Baku bus fleet to be replenished with electric buses

December 21, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 6 years 34% of the bus fleet has been replaced with eco-friendly buses of Euro6 standard, running on CNG.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Baku Transport Agency (BNA) that by the end of 2022 they plan to increase this figure up to 75% and put electric buses into operation.

Compared with diesel-powered buses, CNG-operating buses emit 30% less carbon dioxide and 32% less nitrogen dioxide.

In 2019, in comparison with 2015, the volume of emissions of pollutants from road transport into the atmospheric air decreased by 3.3% (32.5 tons), and per capita - by 5.8% or 5.9 kg.
