May 14, Fineko/abc.az. The State Committee for Property Affairs of Azerbaijan has revealed illegal activity of 250 stone quarries.
The Committee reports that the monitoring has shown that there are 585 stone quarries in the country and their relevant e-database has been created.
"The monitoring also revealed that 250 stone quarries have operated in violation of the land legislation. Currently 238 quarries are really operating and 23 have applied for their registration. As a result of revealed breaches, administrative protocols were drawn up against 127 quarries and materials on 46 quarries that illegally seized land plots were transferred law enforcement agencies," the SCPA said.
Inspections are underway in 42 stone quarries and basically similar facts are found out in the territories of the Khazar, Garadagh, Absheron, Imishli, Guba, Sheki and Gazakh districts.
