May 20, Fineko/abc.az. "The monkey pox virus, the facts of infection of which have now been identified in several countries, is a type of smallpox. There are much fewer facts of infection from person to person."

ABC.AZ reports that Nazrin Mustafayeva, head of the Infection Control Organization Department of the Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Divisions (TƏBIB), told about this.

Recalling that the disease has been registered in the countries of Central and West Africa, the United States, Great Britain and Portugal, the department head noted that no cases of infection with the monkey pox virus were detected in Azerbaijan.

"There is a vaccine against this virus. There is no specific treatment. It is considered a disease that passes by itself within 2-4 weeks," Mustafayeva emphasized.
