"Budget discipline consists in timely and correct fulfillment of financial obligations, spending budget funds for appropriate purposes, strict compliance with established norms and rules," ABC.AZ reports, citing Accounts Chamber’s chairman Vugar Gulmamedov as saying this at Milli Majlis meeting.

He noted that in order to improve budget discipline, first of all, it is necessary to improve the legal regulation of internal control and accounting, increase knowledge and skills in this area.

"Last year, State Budget revenues were met by 3.8% more than predicted, the main sources of budget revenue growth were profit tax on the share distribution of production, VAT, income tax, customs duty, state duty. The forecast indicators for receipts from paid services of budget organizations, dividends from enterprises whose shares belong to the state, and receipts from leasing of land owned by the state, totaling AZN 130 million, have not been met," Gulmamedov said.
