May 23, Fineko/abc.az. The State Committee on Property Issues warns the landowners.

The Committee reports that measures towards landowners who do not use or use ineffectively agricultural land have been tightened.

"We carried out analysis on return of empty and unused plots to destination for agricultural needs. As a result of the monitoring in 44 districts of the country, about 1,500 cases of non-use or inefficient use of land by individuals of such plots have been revealed. As a result, about 255 hectares of land were returned for re- use," the Committee informed.

Most of the facts of illegal land seizure were revealed in the Absheron, Beylagan, Barda, Geigel, Sabirabad, Salyan, Geranboy, Khachmaz districts, and the largest number of facts of non-use of lands was found out  in the Neftchala, Samukh, Hajigabul, Shemakha, Khizi, and Agstafa districts.

So far, the SCPI has revealed 2,600 breaches of land legislation and applied penalties towards legal entities and individuals in the amount of more than AZN 1 million.
