July 19, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani President’s Special Representative for Zangilan district Vahid Hajiyev distributed information in connection with the first resettlement to Agali village.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Committee for Refugees & IDPs that the first stage of the resettlement of the population to Agali village, built on the basis of ‘smart village’ concept in Zangilan district, began with a residential complex constructed for IDPs in Masazir settlement of Absheron district.

At the first stage, 41 families are resettled in Agali village. Families for resettlement were primarily selected from among those who lived in the most difficult conditions in temporary settlements, and the area of residential premises provided for resettlement was taken into account. Among the settlers are residents of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd villages of Agali.

Each member of the 41 resettled families was offered a job, and the proposals were accepted. The persons who accepted the offer, after moving, will be officially registered and work at their workplaces. In addition to pensioners, students, housewives, among the first settlers there are engineers, sales cashiers, security guards, gardeners, agronomists, teachers, doctors, persons engaged in small business, as well as specialized personnel in the field of services, health and education. Under the valid law, IDPs will be able to take advantage of social protection measures established for them by the state within three years after returning to their permanent place of residence.
