Potatoes from Iran infected

January 26, Fineko/abc.az. A quarantine pest has been found in potatoes imported from Iran in Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ was informed by the Food Safety Agency.

As a result of lab studies of potato samples imported from Iran by individual Solmaz Yusibova, a quarantine pest - brown rot of potatoes (phytopathogenic bacteria) was found in the batch of the product: Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith) Yabuuchi et al).

In accordance with the legislation, an infected batch of potatoes weighing 71,100 kg was destroyed at a waste disposal site.
