SOCAR Methanol resumes production of methanol

June 18, Fineko/abc.az. SOCAR-run SOCAR Methanol LLC has resumed production of methanol in May after capital repairs, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

SOCAR is ready to exploit jointly with Turkey the gas fields in the Black Sea.

"The production of methanol at the SOCAR Methanol plant was suspended from January this year to April inclusive due to capital works. In May, the company resumed its activities at full capacity," the Committee said.

According to SOCAR, in May the enterprise produced 47,200 tons of methanol. In annual terms (Jan-May 2021/Jan-May 2020), the volume of production decreased by 4.3 times.
