France announces freezing of Russian assets for 1.2 bn euro

August 1, Fineko/abc.az. France informs about the freezing of Russian assets in the amount of 1.2 bn euro  – in addition to the previously frozen funds of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to foreign media that Guillaume Vallette-Valla, the head of the Intelligence & Counteraction to Clandestine Financial Schemes under the French Ministry of Finance & Economy, said this in an interview for the Tribune.

"The amount of frozen Russian assets is 1.2 bn euro, not counting the assets of the Russian Central Bank," RIA Novosti quoted the official as saying.

According to him, in this case speech is about about both financial instruments and other assets, in particular, real estate.

At the end of March, France froze the assets of the Bank of Russia in the amount of 22 bn euro.
