New criteria approved for facilities subject to mandatory energy audit


The Cabinet of Ministers approved the criteria for determining economic entities and non-residential premises subject to mandatory energy audit.

According to ABC.AZ, in this regard, Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a resolution, which notes that in accordance with Article 6.3 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the efficient use of energy resources and energy efficiency", an energy audit is mandatory in business entities and non-residential premises regardless of the legal form and form of ownership that meet the following criteria:

- business entities whose annual energy consumption exceeds 1000 tons of oil equivalent;
- non-residential buildings with a built-up area of ​​at least 10,000 square meters or an annual energy consumption of more than 250 tons of oil equivalent.

This decision is effective from July 1, 2022.
