EU to hold extraordinary meeting of energy ministers

August 30, Fineko/abc.az. An extraordinary meeting of EU energy ministers will be held.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to foreign media that the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Josef Sikela, who presides over the EU, made statements to the local press about the energy crisis in Europe.

Noting that the electricity market has been serving Europeans for 30 years and driving down electricity prices, Sikela said it is now necessary to accept the fact that the energy market is not working as it should. European countries fear that in the conditions of the energy crisis they simply will not have enough fuel for the heating season.

On September 9, the Czech Republic will convene an extraordinary meeting of energy ministers of the European Union countries.

"It is necessary to discuss our further joint actions in the face of a sharp rise in energy prices," Sikela said.
