Food price index fell from 140.7 in July to 138 in August

September 2, Fineko/abc.az. The world Food Price Index, developed by the UN Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO), has been falling for 5 months.

ABC.AZ reports that the FAO food price index in August amounted to 138 points. This is 1.9% lower than in July this year, but 7.9% higher than in August 2021.

The grain price index decreased by 1.4% over the month due to improved forecasts for the wheat harvest in Canada, the U.S. and Russia.
