June 4, Fineko/abc.az. The Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organization is visiting Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received ICDO Secretary General Vladimir Kuvshinov yesterday, June 3.

During the meeting the head of state stressed the importance of the upcoming event in Baku today in connection with marking of the 10th anniversary of establishment of the MES’ Academy and participation of the Secretary General in the event. President Aliyev expressed confidence that successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and ICDO will continue further.

Vladimir Kuvshinov expressed satisfaction with the participation in the event on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Academy and underlined importance of the rules of information exchange, which will be signed between the MES and the ICDO. He also pointed out that Azerbaijan is one of the ICDO active members and contributes to activities of this organization related to strategic development.

During the conversation the sides talked about work carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of civil defence and exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation.
