EU states make new proposals to package of sanctions against Russia

September 26, Fineko/abc.az. Ireland, Poland and the Baltic states propose to strengthen anti-Russian sanctions by banning the import of diamonds and cigarettes from Russia, as well as disconnecting a number of organizations, including Gazprombank, from Swift and vetoing cooperation with Moscow in the nuclear energy sector.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to news agency Europa Press that Ireland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland proposed to expand the list of organizations excluded from the Swift bank transfer connection system to include Gazprombank, Alfa-Bank, Rosbank and Tinkoff Bank.

Also, the above-said five countries propose to ban the services by Russian insurers and to veto the importation into the EU of products such as propane or butane, that is, products derived from liquefied petroleum gas.
