October 7, Fineko/abc.az. How the life of the Armenian population in Karabakh will be arranged is a separate story. Armenians will have the same rights as Azerbaijani citizens. In any case, they can be sure that their life, a life integrated into Azerbaijani society, will be much better than the current one.

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev said this in an interview for the Azerbaijani press in Prague on 6 October after talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The head of state said that informal contacts with the Armenian population have already begun:

"We plan to intensify consultations within our foreign policy bloc and also continue informal contacts with reps of the Armenian population of Karabakh. I must say that such contacts have been going on for some time. And I think they will lead to full understanding by the main population, who still live in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, that there is simply no other way than integration into the Azerbaijani society."
