Azerbaijani woman appointed minister in Sweden

October 19, Fineko/abc.az. Romina Pourmokhtari, a 26-year-old young woman from South Azerbaijan, has been appointed as Sweden's Minister of Climate & Environment, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Swedish media.

She is currently the youngest minister represented in the Swedish government.

Our compatriot, born in Sweden on November 12, 1995, studied political science at Uppsala University. Romina's father Ibrahim Pourmokhtari immigrated from Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran, to Sweden because he was persecuted and pressured due to his political views.

Romina Pourmokhtari has been active in the Swedish Liberal Party for three years, during which she was responsible for cultural affairs in the capital Stockholm.

She is the author of a collection of short stories.

It should be noted that the leader of the Conservative Party Ulf Kristersson was elected the new Prime Minister of Sweden on October 17. He stated that he had created a coalition government in parliament together with the Christian Democratic and Liberal parties.
