October 21, Fineko/abc.az. The Consulate General of Turkey will open in Shusha in the near future.

ABC.AZ reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated about this in an interview with the local press upon his return from Azerbaijan.

He emphasized that the interests of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the South Caucasus are connected with peace and stability.

"The demarcation of borders, the opening of communications between Nakhchivan and the western regions of Azerbaijan and the signing of a peace agreement with Armenia will be important steps that contribute to the normalization of the situation in the region. After many years, an opportunity arose in the region to ensure permanent peace. We expect Armenia to appreciate this historic opportunity," the Turkish President said.
