November 1, Fineko/abc.az. Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Military Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Col-Gen Maharram Aliyev visited Nakhchivan.
ABC.AZ reports that at a meeting with Vasif Talibov, the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an expanded exchange of views took place on the army permanently stationed in the Nakhchivan Republic, measures for material and technical support of formations and military units, improving the professionalism of personnel, improving service, combat and living conditions.
An official meeting was held with the participation of representatives of a Separate Combined Arms Army, a Separate Nakhchivan Brigade of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Separate Border Division "Nakhchivan" of the State Border Service and the NAR Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as heads of troops and formations, reports were heard.
In accord with requirements and recommendations of Azerbaijani President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, instructions have been brought to the attention on strengthening the combat capability of the Armed Forces, providing them with more effective weapons and military equipment, further improving the relationship between military institutions, ensuring participation in international exercises, protecting the rights of servicemen and upcoming tasks in the direction of improving social conditions.
During the visit, an inspection of the state border, headquarters buildings, dormitories of military personnel, medical centers and other military facilities, as well as armored military equipment, aviation squadrons and military equipment was conducted, and meetings were held with the personnel of military units. The servicemen who distinguished themselves in the service were awarded the next ranks.
