Improtex Industries employee lost three fingers after a mine blast in Jabrayil district

November 2, Fineko/abc.az. A mine has exploded in Mehdili village of Jabrayil district today.

The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) reports that a civilian was injured as a result of the mine blast.

"On November 2, 2022, an anti-personnel mine exploded in village Mehdili of Jabrayil district in an unexploded territory. (...) As a result of the mine explosion, Improtex Industries driver Ilgar Ahmadov, born in 1972, was injured," the Agency says.

The victim had three fingers amputated on his left hand.

Earlier it was reported that over the past 30 years, more than 3,330 people in Azerbaijan have been killed and injured by mines planted by the Armenian side, more than 260 of them after the Second Karabakh War in 2020.
