Kazakhstan to supply 1.5 million tons of oil via BTC

November 22, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan is conducting work with the purpose to determine the oil producing company to transport Kazakh oil through the territory of Azerbaijan starting from 2023.

ABC.AZ reports that KazMunayGas’ deputy chairman of board for economics & finance Dauren Karabayev.

“We are currently negotiating, as KazMunaiGas and Azerbaijan's SOCAR have signed a 5-year agreement to transport 1.5 million tons of oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. It remains only to determine which of the Kazakh oil companies will transport these volumes. We expect the volumes will increase in the future, since not only we, but also Azerbaijan is interested in this,” Karabayev said.
