New rules for disability assessment to come into force next year

December 2, Fineko/abc.az. After the entry into force of the new disability assessment rules, the amount of the pension to be assigned will also change.

That is, the pension sum will depend on the nature of an individual’s physical or mental limitations if any exist.

ABC.AZ reports that in accord with the new rules to come into force from 1 January 2023 the assignment of disability pension will not be carried out on the basis of group categories I, II and III as previously.

Eyvaz Ismailov, the head of the State Social Protection Fund’s Pension Department, said on TV channel Khazar Khabar that according to the new rules, disability will be determined in accordance with the percentage of violations of body functions. The new rules envisage that the disability of individual’s with impaired bodily functions more than by 30 percent is determined in the range of 3 different percent in accordance with the severity of their disease.

In compliance with the new rules, the mechanism of payment of the pension assigned to these persons will be determined in accord with the percentage of disability. In other words, in the previous rules, the amounts of pensions accrued according to insurance indicators to persons with the same degree of disability were the same.

But under the new rules, as the percentage of violations of bodily functions increases, the amount of pensions paid to individuals will also increase.
