December 5, Fineko/abc.az. Italy's natural gas supplies from Azerbaijan currently reach the level of 60%, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Italian PM Giorgia Meloni. 

She touched upon the issue of her country's energy security at the 8th MED Mediterranean Dialogue Forum in Rome, organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Institute of Political Studies. Noting that thanks to strategic partners, Italy has reduced its dependence on Russian natural gas, Meloni said that natural gas supplies from Azerbaijan via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) passing through Turkey, Greece and Albania currently reach 60%. The PM noted that Mediterranean countries such as Algeria also have a key stake in Italy's energy security. She noted that about 45% of natural gas imports to Italy come from Mediterranean countries. 

According to the PM, development and exchange of not only natural gas, but also new sustainable and affordable types of energy will make huge contribution to the energy security of Europe.
