EU countries get into debt

11:16 - 9.12.2022

December 9, Fineko/abc.az. To fulfill their obligations, the EU countries will have to borrow a record amount on the financial markets next year – 1.2 trillion euro.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to France’s newspaper Les Echos that European countries’ borrowing needs in 2023 will grow by 5% compared with the current year.

The publication links such record figures with an increase in compensation payments to the population due to an increase in electricity tariffs.
It was noted that the EU countries had to take expensive measures to protect their compatriots from rising prices for electricity, oil and gas.
