December 13, Fineko/abc.az. British company Anglo-Asian Mining Plc., engaged in the extraction of gold, silver and copper in Azerbaijan, may apply to the court in connection with the illegal use of the Gizilbulag deposit.
ABC.AZ reports that Anglo-Asian Mining Plc. finance director Ilham Khalilov informed about this.
He noted that an appeal to the International Court of Justice is expected in this regard: "It is not yet clear whether the case will be raised in this regard by the Azerbaijani government or directly by Anglo-Asian Mining Plc. At the same time, it is necessary to clarify the amount of damage. But they are not yet providing an opportunity to conduct an investigation there.
Khalilov added that after the political issues are resolved, the company will begin exploration work on Gizilbulag and Demirli contract site located in its upper part.
Contract site Gizilbulag is located in Karabakh on the territory of Agdere, controlled by Russian peacekeepers. The contract site of the gold-rich copper-molybdenum deposit Demirli is part of it. There is information that Armenians mined up to 35,000 ounces (about 1 ton) of gold here per year. Gold mining from the earth's surface leads to serious environmental and other derivative consequences.
