Moscow Stock Exchange plans launch of trading in manats

December 20, Fineko/abc.az. The Moscow Exchange is considering the possibility of launching trading in the Azerbaijani manat in 2023, ABC.AZ reports, citing Kirill Pestov, managing director of the Moscow Exchange Business Development Department.

"We’re considering about 10 currency pairs, including the UAE dirham, the Azerbaijani manat, and the Egyptian pound, which are great foreign trade partners of our country. We’ll study the possibility of launching and development potential of other currencies, there is interest from regulators and market participants," Pestov said.

In 2022, the exchange launched trading in five new currencies: Armenian dram, South African rand, Uzbek sum, Kyrgyz som and Tajik somoni.
