December 26, Fineko/abc.az. In order to increase the fodder base in sericulture, the breeding of mulberry seedlings adapted to local conditions continues. As part of complex measures, about 1 million local mulberry seedlings were prepared for planting this year.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan that seedlings are to be planted on the territory of sericulture districts and worm farms, as well as in forest belts specially allotted by the Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources.

The seedlings were delivered to the Barda coconut drying station, from where they were distributed to the districts.

Mulberry leaves, in particular, are intended for feeding the silkworm.
