January 27, Fineko/abc.az. India and the UAE are planning to lay an underwater cable between the two countries for connection of their power systems, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Indian ambassador to the UAE Sanjay Sudhir.

"Laying an undersea cable will allow connecting the UAE, as well as five other member states of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Persian Gulf, to the Indian power grid and supplying solar energy produced in India to the Middle East," the ambassador stated.

He added that the connection of the energy systems of India and the UAE will be one of the stages of creating a global energy network to combine renewable energy sources around the world.
