February 3, Fineko/abc.az. The EU will create an online platform for accepting applications for a Schengen visa.
ABC.AZ reports that the bill on the full digitization of Schengen visas was supported by the Committee on Internal Affairs of the European Parliament. The initiative envisages creation of a single pan—European visa platform and replacement of a paper visa in a passport with a digital visa - a 2D barcode cryptographically-signed by the Country Signing Certification Authority (CSCA) that issued it.
It is planned that the new platform will become available for connecting 27 countries of the Schengen area in 2026, and will start working in full from 2031.
A range of important decisions were taken in the direction of strengthening social protection of the population, related to increasing wages, labor pensions, social benefits and pensions, in particular, social benefits of the low-income class.
