Azerbaijan plans to create a new mine clearance team

February 7, Fineko/abc.az. "An agreement on the institutional development of ANAMA has been signed between the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and the UNDP representative office in Azerbaijan in order to ensure the safe return of IDPs. The project is funded by the EU."

ABC.AZ reports that ANAMA chairman of board Vugar Suleymanov stated about this.

He added that it is planned to create a new mine clearance team in Azerbaijan as part of the project:

"This team will work under an NGO. Within the project, creation of the first women's mine clearance group is planned in Azerbaijan. In addition, dogs and rats-mine detectors will be delivered to Azerbaijan. Also, improvement of the information system will be carried out within the project. The project period is 18 months, but we hope that the project will continue."
