February 8, Fineko/abc.az. "I am very grateful to my Azerbaijani brothers," ABC.AZ reports, quoting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"I spoke on the phone with my brother Ilham Aliyev. Just as we were next to our brothers in the Karabakh war, so my brother Ilham with his entire team is next to us in this disaster. Personally, on my behalf, I thank the whole team headed by Ilham Aliyev," Erdogan stressed.

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake hit Turkiye on February 6 affecting 10 Turkish provinces, which are home to 13.5 million people.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared a state of emergency in these provinces, and a 7-day mourning in the country in memory of the victims.
