Azerbaijan is likely to improve the customs tariff rate system.

Aydin Aliyev, chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan, says discussion of transition to three-stage tariff system.

"The proposals imply changes in the rates of customs duties on imported raw materials and goods, with taking into account the interests of domestic production and measures aimed at preventing the outflow of currency from the country," he emphasized.

According to SCC chair, a range of ministries have already given a positive opinion on this proposal, and now its adoption depends on the government.

The three-stage customs duty rate system means application of rates at the level of 0%, 5% and 15%.
