May 18, Fineko/abc.az. The authorities of the state of Montana were the first in the United States to completely ban the Tik Tok social network.

ABC.AZ reports that the corresponding law was signed by the governor of the state Greg Gianforte on Wednesday.

"To protect the personal data of Montana residents from the Chinese Communist Party, I have banned TikTok in Montana," Gianforte wrote on Twitter.

Under the new law, which the local legislature adopted in April, it is prohibited to download the TikTok mobile application in the state.

Thus, Apple and Google must block access to downloading the application in their app stores, otherwise they will face fines.

The ban will take effect from January 1.
