June 5, Fineko/abc.az. Transport infrastructure will be developed in Nakhchivan.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in the State Program of NAR Socio-Economic Growth 2023-27, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

Within the framework of this program, it is planned to prepare project proposals. The work will be coordinated by the local Cabinet Ministers and the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport. These measures will be aimed at improving the transport situation in the NAR.

According to the document, AZAL, the Ministry of Communications, Digital Development & Transport, together with the Ministry of Economy, the Cabinet Ministers of the NAR during 2023-27 should conduct research to identify potential airlines, negotiate with airlines interested in operating flights to Nakhchivan Airport. The conclusion of contracts and the start of the work of airlines should be ensured on time, as a result, the number of air traffic from the NAR should increase.

Also, the opening of Zangezur Corridor makes it necessary to upgrade the railway infrastructure in NAR. The document notes that this is why the railway infrastructure will be reconstructed, a safe and fast transportation service will be provided.
