Putin calls Prigozhin's actions an adventure and insurrection

June 24, Fineko/abc.az. Russian President Vladimir Putin made an address to the people.

ABC.AZ reports that in his speech, he called the actions of the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, a mutiny and an adventure.

"Excessive ambitions led to betrayal. Betrayal and treason. Those who mutinied - betrayed Russia. The armed forces and state bodies have received the necessary orders," the president said.

Putin addressed the citizens of Russia, the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, law enforcement officers. He called on the people to unity, consolidation and responsibility.

He said that Russia is fighting an uphill battle for its future. The entire military information machine of the West is directed against the Russian Federation.

"Now the fate of our people is being decided and the unity of all forces is required, it is necessary to discard any strife... Our actions will be tough. They will answer before the law and before the people. Decisive actions will be taken to stabilize the situation in Rostov. I will do everything to defend the country, life and security, freedom of citizens," Putin said.
