July 7, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. Department of Labor has published information on weekly unemployment claims.

ABC.AZ informs that according to U.S. Department of Labor’s report, the number of new applications for unemployment benefits reached 248,000, taking into account seasonal fluctuations, for the week ended July 1. The data for the previous week were adjusted to show 3,000 fewer claims than previously reported.

Economists polled by Reuters predicted that the quantity of requests over the past week would be 245,000. However, the number of applications rose to a 20-month high in the first three weeks of June and amounted to about 265,000.
