8,100 jobs closed in Azerbaijan

Over the six months of this year, 38,900 new jobs were opened in the country.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 25% of the jobs created by legal entities are in construction, 18.3% are in trade; repair of vehicles, 10.1% of jobs are in the manufacturing industry, 9% are in the field of tourist accommodation and catering, 7.1% are in professional, scientific and technical activities, 5.3% are in transport and warehousing, 4.8% are in the provision of medical and social services to the population, 4.7% are in the field of administrative and support services, 3.2% are in the field of agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.5% are in the field of information and communications, 10% are in other economic activities.

At the same time, 8,100 jobs were closed in the country in the first half of 2023. 48.1% of the jobs closed during this period were in the non-governmental sector. 54.0% of jobs were closed due to the termination of the activities of enterprises and organizations, and 46% were closed due to cuts in existing enterprises and organizations.
