August 30, Fineko/abc.az. The level of self-sufficiency in all types of flour in Azerbaijan in 2022 was 93.3% against 95% in 2021.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Interfax-Azerbaijan that according to the State Statistics Committee, the level of self-sufficiency in wheat in 2022 amounted to 56.7% (61.5% in 2021).

According to the data, in 2022, per capita annual consumption of wheat was 3.2 kg (in 2021 - 6.7 kg), and per capita annual consumption of flour was 47.5 kg (in 2021 - 60.1 kg).

The agency notes that wheat stocks in Azerbaijan in 2022 amounted to 3,309,493 tons (a decrease of 6.8% from the figure for 2021).

In the beginning of 2022, the balance of wheat in the country was 325,665 tons.

During 2022, 1,690,832 tons of wheat were produced in Azerbaijan (a decrease of 8%), 1,292,996 tons were imported (an increase of 12.6%).
