August 30, Fineko/abc.az. Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev announced the possibility of opening the Lachin-Khankandi (Lachin road) 24 hours after the opening of traffic on the Aghdam-Khankandi road.

“In 24 hours (after the opening of the route through Aghdam) the Lachin road will also be opened. The more roads, the better for everyone,” Hajiyev said.

According to him, Azerbaijan proposes to use the Aghdam-Khankandi road to supply the country's Karabakh region.

Touching upon the issue of the detention of Vagif Khachatryan while trying to cross the checkpoint on the border with Armenia, he noted that many eyewitnesses recognized him. "We never said that war criminals should not be brought to justice," Hajiyev said.
