September 4, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has again increased the volume of licorice juice and extract.

ABC.AZ reports that in the first half of this year the country exported 130.2 tons of licorice extract abroad. Azerbaijan sells this product only to Japan. Azerbaijan received income of $1.258 million from the export of licorice from abroad.

The volume of licorice exports increased sharply against 1st half of 2022. In the previous year, exports almost stopped, and only 0.03 tons of extract were exported. During the same period of 2021, 91.2 tons of licorice were exported, or in the amount of $923,900.

However, country’s exports began in 2014, and exports were carried out mainly to Japan and China. These countries, in turn, are among the largest importers of licorice extract in the world. Despite the fact that 4 years ago it was stated that exports would be possible to Israel, so far there have been no exports there.
