Azerbaijani customs officers prevent attempt of drug transit from Iran to Ukraine

July 6, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's customs officers prevented an attempt to transit a large consignment of narcotic drugs through the territory of Azerbaijan.

The State Customs Committee reports that Azerbaijani citizen Imamverdi Aghayev tried to move drugs on auto-truck Mercedes - Benz Axor and was detained on the border with Iran.

"The offender was carrying 800 bags of sodium carbonate, sent by Iranian company Mojtaba Shage Azar to Ukrainian company Lisintra LLC. The canine inspection revealed drugs weighing 260 kg in 25 plastic bags," the SCC said.

The Forensic Center of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan determined that it is heroin produced by artisanal method.
