September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan imported 668,319 tons of wheat for $183.58 million for Jan-Aug 2023, ABC.AZ was informed at the State Customs Committee.

This indicator increased in quantitative terms by 23.9% or by 128,900 tons versus Jan-Aug 2022. In value terms, there was decrease of 5.1% or $9.8 million.

In the first 8 months of 2022, our country imported 539,331 tons of wheat for $193.7 million.

The cost of 1 ton of wheat imported into the country decreased by 23.4% or by $84.1 to $274.6 (466.8 manats). Last year’s figure was $358.7 (609.8 manats).

Over Jan-Aug 2023, wheat imports made up 1.65% of Azerbaijan's total imports.
